Good to see studies on this, but it should be absolutely no surprise.

The most profitable scenario for a privatized healthcare system is a chronically ill population. The more people are utilizing services, consuming medications, etc, the better for the bottom line. The "market" will tend to drive policies in that direction.

The incentives are drastically misaligned, it's a complete catastrophe.
