So for $33 you can violate someone's freedoms of expression because part of their site "may" be violating your copyright. So much for due process.

You make it sound like anyone can pay $33 to shut down a site. They brought the case to a judge, seemingly proved copyright infringement, showed how they had made numerous attempts at contacting the owners, and the site owner had the opportunity to plead their case. The judge ruled on available information.

One can, with all rights, argue that banning a domain is wrong but I don't see much difference in how the case was handled versus any other civil legal dispute.
