If data protection laws are considered heavy in countries such as the US and Australia then they must be essentially nonexistent in many others. Either that or the graduations as shown aren't representative of the facts.

It mystifies how anyone could say data protection laws in Australia and especially the US could be considered heavy when all evidence points to them being ineffective.
