I wonder what the effect on religiosity over the eons would have been if earth had such a crappy total eclipse.
And similarly it's interesting to wonder if we'd have been as fascinated with the stars and the Moon if we didn't have the unusual characteristics of our Moon.
Maybe ones similar to the patterns on our moon made by craters
