The text is very visually appealing, but it still cannot draw chess boards properly. We may need to wait for AGI for that one.
4o's image generation has not been rolled out to anyone yet. There isn't even a timeline (unlike the new voice). I would be surprised if it could draw chess boards properly but we don't know for sure yet.
Am I the only one who's fed up with glorified tech demos that make it to the market only months later? It feels like paying for DLCs on the gaming market.
This happens with most companies (especially Google and OpenAI). There are a few who deliver on their promises very quickly. Apple is one of them.
I dunno man, maybe I'm just old but waiting "a few weeks" between announcement and free product offering doesn't feel at all like any historic rate of release elsewhere in tech, and certainly not DLC.
Elden Ring came out before GPT-4. The DLC for it comes out next month.
That's not quite the same feeling, at least to me.
Remember that Google demo where they showed an assistant who could make phone calls on your behalf?
It’s not like DLC, you had it right at first, it’s a demo. Games have their own equivalents, including literal tech demos, which often abound after a new console releases. It’s not quite as evil as DLC.
Is this GPT4-o not the same as the one available on the pro plan? I can access it now.
Only text and image input, text output have rolled out. Voice, image output have not.
