Government bodies such as school boards and state education departments will choose the curricula for government-run schools. Increasing disputes about what should be taught are an argument for a voucher system where parents can choose schools based on their curricula.
Letting dumb people with biases pick dumb schools is a recipe for a dumb autocracy.
