The fact that this letter is signed by a number of institutional investors is notable, since those are the ones who usually bother to vote.
$46 billion in pay is obscene but not as obscene as the man expecting it.
It's about time they start reigning in the chaos that is Elon Musk. Musk was integral, and even critical, to Tesla getting where they are today, but it's become apparent he's too chaotic to take Tesla much further.

I would say this is par for the course for a startup CEO, and Tesla has now grown out of the startup phase. They've become a full-fledged automaker and need the appropriate leadership to guide them through the next phase.

One small shareholder group isn't going to change a thing. Elon will still get his well deserved bonus.
I don't know what planet you're from, but here on Earth NOBODY deserves a $46B bonus.
That bonus package was approved on planet Earth. Elon met the requirements for the bonus and is entitled to it.
You sarcasm detector is on off
Thanks for subsidizing all this EV/AI technology, Mr. Elon, to be implemented in future generations of other manufacturers' hybrids.
He didn't subsidize it - the U.S. Government did. Both with a last-minute loan and then tax breaks for consumers.

Musk also lied that he got a bank loan (apparently no one checks this shit) in order to get the DoE loan.
