It's worth remembering that just because you can't make sense of something, it doesn't mean there isn't sense to be had. Software engineers seem particularly prone to forget about that.

Wow this article manages to quote a philosopher's book about AI from 2014. Way back before any hint that LLMs and scale would rush the stage. If someone finds some substantial information in the article, please tell me, I gave up.
I think it's important to put "AI" into some perspective. Despite it's apparent wonder and power it is little more than a advanced lossy compression algorithm (latent-space with back propagation most times) and a natural language query interface. SQL with a facelift.

Once you see the man behind the curtain it loses most of it's shine.
