What's crazy is that roughly 3 or 4 years ago, I had a bet with my friend that there were large amount of oil around the Korean peninsula and that rift with Japan over the East Sea (Sea of Japan) is largely driven by this knowledge/suspicion.

Would be an absolute boon to both countries if true.
