Huge meandering article about building a fence.
Pro tip, in places where your neighbors want a say in potential remodels of the interior rooms of your house spend some time seeking consensus before building a fence. Because before we had building permits and codes we had community consensus and you go against that at your peril.
The article is about:
- feeling like an outsider
- feeling like an insider
- how small towns fill their time with gossip and molehills
- identity
- the human condition
You can't fix the human condition by getting approval for your fence
> where your neighbors want a say in potential remodels of the interior rooms of your house
What? I've heard of HOA overreach but this is insanity (although reading, this specific instance was not a formal HOA action).
The only correct response to your neighbors wanting a say in interior remodeling is "None of your damn business".
