I guess some people are just totally OK with a data collection device being in their home, as long as it looks cool.
Even if it doesn't look cool, some people have this weird obsession that no one's allowed to know anything about them, as if anyone at Google gives a shit what temperature your house's thermostat is set to. and that somehow that's going to remotely affect them.
No one at Google, Google itself, may care exactly who or what I am, but they care a lot about using that data to inundate me with ads, sell me junk, and do who knows what with their AI bots.
Unless of course they decide to lock me out of my Gmail if I try to use my AC during a energy conservation mandate...
