£200000 per year to treat fifty people via bloodletting? Seems excessive; I'm not up on how much blood donations actually cost to do the quick hemoglobin level check and pay for the bag, but I'm pretty sure it's a lot less than £600-700 per unit collected.
I would literally rather cut myself and bleed out with a knife like I am about to make a pact of blood brotherhood with someone than pay £200000 a year.

That's 2-3 times my annual take home for people to remove a pint or two of blood a week. Crazy.

That's £4000 per person year AFAICT. Maybe strange group pricing is normal in public health studies..
Ah. I'm American so I assumed that would be per person
Yeah, which is far too much. Should be on the order of £400-500 per year per person, tops, unless we’re including all transport and incineration cost, in which case maybe £1000/yr.
I was pretty shocked at those prices too, but it sounds like many times in conservative amounts per year to have the equivalent of replacing more than half in one go, etc.
