Yeah, social media distorts what it's actually like.

I'm struggling with having the patience to dive into a new technology. I just end up asking myself "what's the actual usefulness", and I can't find an answer that's convincing for me. That's how I missed the boat with AI. But then again, even now I struggle to find good use cases for it beyond the occasional search.

There is a lot of AI besides LLMs and generative models. I work with a company that uses AI models (largely classifiers) of many kinds to double check doctors. I consider their mission very meaningful work. Learn from places that favor long form content over the short form and short term that is pervasive in the modern media landscape
Hmm, yes, maybe I'll start reading books about financial markets. It's something I'm interested in (opposite to meaningful for most others, I know :D). Thanks!
