Once, on a visit to London, I learned the hard way that the Edgware station is not the same as the Edgware Road station.
In a way, 100 years isn’t such a long time. I grew up not far away in West Harrow, whose growth was enabled by the Metropolitan annd Piccadilly lines. I had elderly friends who could remember it as fields. I just turned 60; WWII ended only 20 years before I was born.
The design of those posters is beautiful. Pure science fiction, considering the time.
I quickly recognised the station with its small roundabout in front in the aerial photograph. Remarkable to see how the area used to look with fields all around compared to now.
