Fair. But there are legions of developers blindly doing REST over HTTP and creating bad experiences. I know it's fine for many, many cases -- but not all.

For sure. But I don't think it's because they think UDP is shit because it's unreliable. It's because most ecosystems make REST over HTTP much, much easier than using UDP.
