She's a major part of what makes SpaceX exceptional, and she's pretty much irreplaceable. She definitely earns her salary.
That's correct, but Starship is one of those Elon projects, like cybertruck, where the boss has a brain fart and tells his underlings to just make it work.
Why is Shotwell "problematic"? Care to elaborate?
