I guess the only notable thing here is that it sucks she gave up her seat for their teen… that’s a lot of guilt, clearly. But I can’t put aside that this was a luxury tour for rich people that didn’t do any research ahead of time.
Would it be sadder to you if the family had lower numbers on their bank accounts?
… yes. I think so. Why would I feel bad about that?
I would correlate the convenience of research about a very potentially deadly leisure expedition directly with wealth. That seems reasonable.
If this was a gratis expedition for underprivileged children, yes, I think that would have been worse.
I think the big point is that they had all the money in the world and couldn't be bothered to spend any of it on their own safety. On top of that is the fact that being a billionaire is deeply immoral.
