While I feel for the guy, it's crazy to watch people think making (in this case) almost 5x the median individual income in the US for a Software Engineer II job should be common. Some of these guys are making 20x or more. This is a bubble popping. You invested in something that is now worth a whole lot less because it can be done for pennies on the dollar. That sucks for sure, but it's the relentless march of technology. Did you really think these mega-corporations would not cut you as soon as humanly possible? You may have to settle for making the same amount of money as the bottom 95% of the population.
