Why would they make something that's like 5% of market share? Tiny car + huge SUV (YL doesn't count) makes far more sense.
SUVs are popular because

1) old people can get into them more easily

2) women feel safe in them (they aren’t safer)

3) higher position == better overview

I don’t think those are compelling reasons for a family to own an SUV over a van, considering their disadvantages (size, high loading sill, efficiency, stability).

Yes everyone is wrong, particularly the childless.

I own both, albeit older van and SUV (model y). I do like van a lot, and kids were probably more excited than when getting a Tesla. Agility is not comparable. For cargo, Tesla is surprisingly good. As we speak I'm planning to pick up a 2meter tall hot water cylinder (heat pump baby).

I think telling people what they should do is a bad idea. On paper I should choose a wagon (I love reclined drive position). But I don’t think I ever will tho.

SUVs are fine in the US, there is enough space and the speed limit is low.

In European cities parking is just a PITA, and frankly using up all that space with a huge car is impolite.

I keep hoping Edison motors up in Canada comes out with a Van conversion kit like their pick up kit
... Do the Edison kits still use the original transmission?

Cause if not, it would be hilarious to do that to a clapped out van...

Looks like they replace the entire drivetrain. Some older Ford vans, like the 90s windstars, were built on small truck platforms, so you could probably do one. But I'm not sure they'd sell one to ya

Still would love to see it. The idea reminds me of farm truck https://okcfarmtruck.com/pages/about
