It's hard to tell where things stand but the potential futures being discussed had been on my mind since 2018. I can't find evidence for a macro trend but I'd seen comments here about folks trying to invest as a hedge for weakening labor power. If things degrade fast enough, it might not matter as the social contract breaks. Of course, this might be impetus enough for some sort of UBI program.
