The odd thing is, it’s so… strategically incompetent. Trump’s handlers presumably know that pretty much everyone in Europe hates Trump, and _particularly_ dislikes his ambivalence on Russia. So _publicly supporting_ the candidates ideologically aligned with him seems like a terrible idea; the likes of Farage presumably do not want the public association, because voters hate it.
I do wonder if this is driven by Trump just refusing to believe that people don’t like him.
