Technical folks get a bit enthusiastic about their jobs and hobbies. Surely you've noticed how many people seem overjoyed that RISC-V is overtaking ARM. They aren't all engineers who have to do embedded programming, many are just fans. Like there are fans of Sonic the Hedgehog or Darth Vader. It's therefore considered kind of nasty to diminish someone's enthusiastic nerdy pursuit. I don't agree with that, but that's how it's perceived. This social faux pas has been enshrined de facto in the rules of various sites, and HN is no exception. If you're going to rock the boat, it's best to use a lot of words so people who are just trying to satisfy their nerdy special interest don't read it and get inflamed.
There is a different between Nerdy interest and cheering it on and something completely untrue such as RSIC-V will take over the world in 1,2,3,4,5.... years. Along with technically false claims on performance and market interest.
There is no problem anyone is supporting anything. But as soon as you bring out some technical details and business cases that is objectively untrue, and when questioned multiple times does not stop spreading FUD or wrong information. Then it should be called out, loud and clear.
