Ask HN: I am going to apply for LFX(Linux foundation mentorship),any advices?

So, recently I have been trying to get this LFX mentorship as a mentee, but I couldn't get it, so now I have made a proper project and started contributing to open source. If anyone has some advice, would be very grateful.
