I definitely don't speak for all non-white people when I say this, but personally I find people obsessing over it disturbing/offensive independent of whether their intentions are racist or anti-racist.
I did find modeling/data-driven perspective cool though

I also agree. Yes, humans need to be reminded that not all humans are just like their immediate group, but that goes for all humans, not just the white ones. And I certainly don't get accusations of racism that come along with it. But then I don't really get the needing to be represented thing either. Was I represented by Mario???
