I'm curious to hear your opinion about the US/UK admissions system; in Poland it's all matura (like SAT) based; any additional activities and merits are purely checklist based and consitute mostly a tie-breaker. Additional filtering is through stuffing difficult courses in the first year and having unsuitable students fail or bail.
