In my town they are talking about closing 8 primary schools next year because enrollment is down.
Where this really hits is small town America. A lot of folks in small towns are starting to see their kids bussed someplace else because there aren't enough locals to keep a school open, and they hate it.
More than 8 primary schools in a small town seems a lot no?
Mine isn't that small, nearly half a million people in my metro area. They plan to close 8 of the 44 elementary schools. I do hear what others are experiencing in actual small towns though.
