Dr. Tim King, thanks for introducing real computers to me, in the form of Amiga.

The Amiga was an awesome machine. And the OS was part of the reason it was able to deliver such good video.
You could develop real C programs. Partially thanks to AmigaDOS.
Same! AmigaDOS (based on TRIPOS) was the first OS with a "real" command line that I used. It was also where I learned C.
I too learned C on an Amiga 1000. Somehow I scrounged together $300 to buy the Lattice C compiler and all its manuals – a steep price in 1985-86. Funny to think that much better tools are now free.
