We knowingly fucked up and doomed the world (at least for humans to comfortably flourish). So, yeah, I guess we can say that about rainforests too, but that applies to pretty much everywhere.

There is no going back. We already know the climate is fucked for the next century, even if we somehow stop producing 100% of greenhouse gases today.

And maybe add blockchains to the mix to be sure no compute seconds ever go idle

I forgot about SSD coins (the crypto that destroys disks, forgot the name)

I mean AI data centers are silly things and they do use a lot of resources, but as a whole they are barely rounding error compared with the super organism that is the sum of all our consumption. And that is pretty depressing when you think about it.
