I sense a certain loop of hype, here...
Now it remains to be seen how the final costs of building unit of track compare to other modes of transportation, and its socio-economical impacts. Like cutting through the landscape, tunneling, how it's usable for freight, if ever?

Just upgraded with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_hydrogen or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slush_hydrogen driving superconducting electropropulsion for STOL/VTOL.
No superconducting materials at room temperature? Just use the liquified hydrogen, let it flow around the electrics, both in liquid form, and the necessary off-gassing.
