They are getting more than what most senior engineers are getting in my company.
Living in the third world really sucks.

They do pay quite well, just not as well as your Austin or whatever salary makes that look like.
I wish I lived in Austin.
I work in Malaysia - the tech scene here is ... underfunded. Our living expenses aren't particularly cheap either.
