This gets into the issue of where rights originate. Do they originate with the government (or its founding documents) or are they an integral part of being human?

I don't believe a right to bear arms is an integral part of being human. I think the 2nd Amendment has outlived its usefulness.

Couldn't disagree more with this. I think the right to self-defense is very much and integral part of being human.
