Anyone know of anything comparable for SSDs?

The techreport's SSD endurance series covers which SMART attributes are relevant to which manufacturers [1].
When we were getting ready to move some production systems over to SSDs we took one drive and wrote random data to it until it died. After every complete write cycle we collected the SMART attributes so we would know what a dying drive looked like.

no, so far every manufacturer fails to deliver reliable warning mechanisms, they cant even provide read only mode when drive wears out.
99% of cases SSD simply vanishes from your system eating all the data forever.
At least on some Intel's the wear level indicator exposed via Smart seems like it actually does its job.
