Ask HN: BP shows $3B in ~5 years, would that justify an ask of $600K

BP is for a product that is a blend of a web service, and some actual hardware. First year's costs all in suggest I would need $600K to start ($500k actual costs and about $100K for marketing). Within first six months should be able to break even for on-going costs, and show significant profit by the second year.

I get the feeling that a request of that size would be too much for the usual startup model. So should I look at other alternatives, or would the fact that there is significant hard/software costs be taken into account?
