Funny thing is, the last couple interviews I've had in Chicago and Silicon Valley, I actually get points when explaining caution is necessary when using AWS for production. A magic bullet it isn't.

I'm a Model S reservation holder and a TSLA stock owner. I'm perfectly fine with TSLA charging for test drives.

I've paid $3K to rent an Audi R8 for the weekend. I currently have a Model S reservation. I'm cool with paying $300 to see if I want to spend $80K on a car (0.00375% of the value of the vehicle).

Awesome product, but still waiting on agents to remotely deploy installations on laptops that never come to a corporate network.

The logs sit on a ramdisk before being scrubbed; power removed before scrubbing? Logs are lost, but PCI compliance is maintained.

Having a tape libarary/silo is much harder to scale vs building pods of hard drives. Experience: I helped route and process data for the Large Hadron's CMS detector.

Can you spin all the drives down in a pod once the pod is full of data until a restore is needed?

I'm sure you guys keep track of read/write statistics as well; have you thought about spinning drives down on full BB pods until a restore is requested (similar to how Amazon Glacier's storage system …

Turn around time. You can turn around a self-landing ignition stage much faster than something you have to turn around after a water landing.
