What's going on with SVE[2] support in the ARM land? It's weird that even Apple's M5 still doesn't support it (other than SME[2]).

The chip sounds impressive. I wish the M5 Max had 512 GB of RAM.

Tell me about it. I checked the page thinking whether I should go for 256 GB or 512 GB RAM model. 128 GB maximum. Sigh.

No 256 GB model, so no purchase. What a shame.

That's a possibility. Some code still assumes (without realizing!) x86 style ordered loads and stores. This is called a strong memory model, specifically TSO, Total Store Order. If you tell x86 t…

I wonder why he didn't use a RP2350, it costs practically same as the older RP2040. That way it could have 450 kB or so system RAM, enough to play around with some old productivity software.

Very much simplified, a 10 minute charge would mean 6C charging throughout the curve. 100 kWh battery would thus require 600 kW on average. Right now the most powerful MCS chargers deliver 1440 kW. So…

There's some truth to what the gp said. Some hydrogen will escape, enter the upper atmosphere, and be blown away by the solar wind and thus be permanently lost.

IIRC, you can use up to 16 MB of PSRAM with RP2350. Maybe up to 32 MB, not sure. Many dev boards provide 8 MB PSRAM.
