This would be much easier if our numeric system was also base 12. Then 10*10 is still 100 (but that’s 144 in decimal). Edit: lol responses explode within 60 seconds saying the same thing.

This would explain the OP being annoyed to the point of asking for a ban on it. I’ve also never seen it in the many users of (mostly many times daily) visiting HN.

Should add (2021) to the title.

I’m confused how this can be used for phishing? Does the text only get replaced, and the underlying link stays intact? Surely not? Otherwise, the link would still go to fedex.com.

Thank you, I was so confused. Why in the world would they use “blue = more cloud coverage, white/gray = less”?

I think they are suggesting they’re not adequately enforced. At least 10-25% of drivers I see in the road are constantly on their phone. So it’s definitely not enforced enough to deter that.

No kidding. Too bad it wasn’t parasitic butterflies (larva) from the parasitic wasps. That would’ve been epic.

Agree that you should view the totality without protection. But I’d argue seeing the diamond is far from boring, and you definitely should not view that without protection.

Or, just order any on the NASA approved list OP linked. You can buy these direct (for example), at a decent price: https://medicalkingusa.com/collections/inventory-set …

I’m assuming this is only achieved by “cheating” in some way? That is, I don’t see how giant pixels can come and go, at a zoomed in level, without breaking the rules of Conway’s game of life? Still co…

That actually makes me feel better about the data, vs. had it been an attempt to use other models to predict that actual weather, that would have pretty much zero trust in this far out.

Yeah, fair point. I wonder if you could do it with a coin, and flip the coin after the decision was made? I think that reintroduce risk and regret, but remove trust.

I think this is 100% correct, and very surprised the author of the article and/or study didn’t figure this out. Here’s how you could (possibly) prove that. Instead of the options being you get th…

I’m not so sure. Anecdotally, I’ve made it to a remote destination using Maps, then hopped back in the car an hour later (with no signal), and it couldn’t load anything. This seems to happen quite oft…
