I was a heavy Quora user from 2014 to 2019 with fairly many answers and questions. In 2019 they essentially blocked website for mobile users and urged them to download the app. That's when I deci…

I can't think of any logical reason to exclude ChromeOS and count it separately, and a good portion of the "Unknown" category may as well be Linux. The "real" number shouldn…

I will die with the crushing embarrassment of not being able describe what a monad is, despite being a so-called (and apparently fake) programmer since the age of 10.

Convincing any one of those 50k people to ditch a free product for a paid one is a miracle by itself. Congrats to Kagi! However, is there really no other model than these two, i.e. being 100% the prod…

Does Polars have a Java library?

I have heard it about the situation in 1995, but it probably also holds to a good extent now: You appreciate Java (only) after you have experienced/experience other languages.

I'm following them since their first mention in HN in 2023, particularly for Wasm support in compilation. Still not much output, unfortunately.

It seems string typing is not as bad an anti-pattern as it used to be :) It will be a very impactful work; I'm excited to see. Probably even a 1% improvement in String::hashCode will have an impa…
