Just to understand this correctly, are you talking about internal debates at google? Like the different teams embracing different technologies for building apps?

That's a good call, although if it becomes widely used outside of google, won't it be possible for a community to just fork it when google loses interest?

Wasn't this company the one that also made the original Swype keyboard for Android? I remember it having it's own "Dragon" Dictation system built in after a while.

I guess there are some users who expect something in this vein after seeing it in whatsapp or imessage? Still, bundling some unstable opaque cryptocurrency to it instead of just normal money seems a b…

It is! The only issue afaik is that it doesn't support wayland yet, so you won't be getting any of the nice tracked trackpad gestures (unless something has changed since I last checked).

I've never used any vpn myself, but whenever I come across the topic in tech circles people seems to recommend mullvad. Can't vouch for them or anything, but might be worth looking into.

The only Thing I don't like about discord is that it's not e2ee, so I guess with regards to talking in huge groups or video chatting it has a performance advantage in that sense.

Super interesting how this will play out. Does anyone have any experience with cliqz? I saw it at a friends place once but never tried it myself. Is it any different from using firefox and duckduckgo?
